I just realized how I know my husband's mistress.
She's been standing next to me in a lifetime of Christmas cards.
Because she's my sister.
Vivian has been the pretty one since 1997.
She's a size two.
I'm... not.
For thirty-one years, that has defined our entire relationship.
She's the golden child. The queen bee.
She's prettier, skinnier, and if I have something she wants...
She takes it.
I wouldn't have known about her latest and greatest theft if it weren't for the iCloud notification.
"Vivian Dorsey has added 3 new videos to the Dorsey Sisters shared album."
First, I recognized my own bedspread.
Then I recognized the wedding ring on the hand pawing my sister's hip.
It's my husband's.
Against all odds, I didn't even cry.
Instead, I got organized.
We're talking screenshots. Text messages.
Even a hotel receipt from an illicit rendezvous...
On the night of our father's funeral.
Yuck.
Plus a loan against my bakery, signed in my name. By Connor.
I put it all together into one neat little PowerPoint.
This year, I'LL volunteer to run the family's holiday slideshow.
Ten minutes before showtime, I hide in the pantry to rehearse.
But what I don't know is that I'm not alone.
A smirking, arrogant, green-eyed stranger listens to my entire speech.
And then gives me a standing ovation.
"Cheaters deserve to be ruined," he says.
"Go get them."
So I do.
Fifty of our nearest and dearest gather 'round to watch as evidence of my husband's and sister's affair dances across the projector screen.
Revenge has never tasted sweeter.
But that's not the end of the story.
Because that green-eyed stranger who encouraged me to go for the throat?
He's not some cousin's anonymous plus-one.
Kane Makov is why my husband's been sweating since October.
He came here tonight to ruin Connor himself.
I just beat him to it.
"Your husband owed me a debt," he says.
"I think I'll take you as repayment instead."
SWEET RUIN is Book 1 of the Makov Bratva duet. Kane and Delilah’s story continues in Book 2, SWEET RAGE.
